Affiliate disclosure & editorial policy
The short version
progeofde.tech earns revenue from three sources, listed in order of importance to the editorial decision:
- Direct client engagements (audits, benchmarks, dashboards, white papers). These are the largest revenue line and are paid for the work, not the verdict.
- Affiliate commissions on links to hosting, GPU, CDN, and domain providers. We earn a small commission if you sign up through our link. The commission does not change our recommendation.
- Sponsorships on the newsletter (not yet launched). Sponsors do not see editorial content before publication and do not get a "must recommend" clause.
If you arrived here from a "best VPS 2026" search and the page ended with a "sign up" link, that link may be an affiliate link. We tag every affiliate link on the page with a disclosure pill (look bottom-right) so you can see it before you click.
What we do not do
- We do not accept payment for reviews or verdicts. A provider cannot pay to be #1 in a "best X" listicle.
- We do not accept review units we don't also pay for. If a provider gives us a free account, we also pay for one. We test on the account we paid for, not the free one.
- We do not let affiliate terms change the recommendation. If Hetzner is the best cheap VPS but the affiliate payout is $5 vs. CloudCone's $40, we still recommend Hetzner if the data says so.
- We do not host sponsored content in the article body. Sponsorships live in dedicated, labelled blocks or in the newsletter; never inline with editorial.
- We do not change a recommendation after a vendor complains. See the corrections policy in methodology.
How affiliate links are tagged
Every page that contains an affiliate link shows a fixed disclosure pill in the bottom-right corner. The pill links to this page. We do not hide affiliate links in redirects, anchor IDs, or cloaked URLs.
You can verify our stance: open the page source, search for rel="sponsored" on any link. Sponsored and ugoing links also carry rel="nofollow noopener" where appropriate.

Editorial corrections policy
If we get something wrong, we fix it at the top of the page with a dated errata line. Vendor reps are welcome to flag issues to our editorial team; corrections are made on the merits, not the relationship. We do not accept payment for corrections.
Where the correction is significant (changes the verdict, changes a price, changes a benchmark), we update the "Last updated" date and add a one-line note explaining what changed and when.
Where the data comes from
All benchmark numbers on this site come from one of three sources, tagged in-line on the page:
- First-party measured. We ran the test on an account we paid for. The script, the date, and the raw output are published.
- Vendor-published. We cite the vendor's own page, with the date we observed it. Renewal math is computed from this.
- Third-party (e.g. RIPE Atlas, public benchmark repos). We cite the source and the date.
We do not invent numbers, paraphrase a competitor's table, or copy a vendor's marketing claim into a "review."
