About progeofde.tech
What this site is
progeofde.tech is an English-language review and benchmarking site for hosting infrastructure: VPS providers, GPU clouds, CDNs, and domain registrars. We write the comparison and "best of" articles that we wish had existed when we were shopping for these services ourselves.
Who runs it
One person full-time (progeofde), plus a small bench of named contributing writers who run the benchmarks and write up results. Every author has verifiable hosting or AI infrastructure experience — see the byline on each article. We list the team's collective credentials below, not to impress but so you know what we actually know.
- 6+ years self-hosting production workloads on shared hosting, VPS, dedicated servers, and bare metal across 11 providers.
- 3+ years renting GPU pods for fine-tuning and inference (Stable Diffusion, LLaMA / Qwen fine-tunes, ComfyUI pipelines).
- Active homelab — Proxmox cluster at home, so we know what "managed" actually saves you and what it doesn't.
- Real money on the line — every test account is paid out-of-pocket, not vendor-supplied. We have canceled accounts with every provider we no longer recommend.
What we are not
- We are not affiliated with any provider we review. We participate in some affiliate programs (clearly disclosed on every page that has affiliate links), but affiliate revenue does not affect our recommendations.
- We are not a "best of" content farm. Every "best X" list on this site is one we re-test on a defined schedule. Articles are timestamped and updated in place.
- We do not run sponsored posts, paid reviews, or "advertorial" content. If a vendor wants placement, they buy an ad slot — not an article.
How we stay independent
Three rules, no exceptions:
- Vendor money never crosses the editorial line. Affiliate commissions pay for hosting and tools; they do not change a single recommendation.
- If a provider offers us a free account for review, we disclose that on the page. We also test with a paid account where possible, to confirm production conditions match the "review tier."
- If a vendor asks us to take a page down or change a verdict, we publish the request and our response in the public errata log.
Editorial standards
Every article follows the same structure:
- Date-stamped header with "Last updated" and the author byline.
- A "How we tested" section linking back to /methodology.html.
- Raw data tables with "Observed on" dates and a source URL.
- A "Who should not buy this" section. Every "best X" article names the audience it does not serve.
- Affiliate disclosure on any page that has affiliate links.
Want to work with us?
We take on a small number of paid engagements per quarter: methodology audits for other review sites, custom benchmarking for vendors, and editorial consulting. If you're launching a new product in this space and need an independent third-party benchmark, the work-with-us page has the details.
